If you're honest, Lostboi Lino doesn't rap. But if you're honest, he also raps on beats. But only also. He also sings on compositions that could come from the musical cosmos of the 90s and probably have more Seattle grunge in them than New York boombap. Eclectic is what they would have called it a few years ago. Today, Lostboi Lino calls this mixture NuRap, which offers him a lot of (creative) freedom to express his brokenness and heaviness. With clear words and unconditional honesty, he tells in his songs about the suicide of his brother, the separation of his parents, about farewells and moments, about self-discovery, anger, hope and the attempt to arrive somewhere.
His hair is pink because he likes it, it is associated with femininity in many eyes and at the same time comes across as rebellious. Lostboi Lino loves rebels: Kurt Cobain, David Bowie, Falco, Udo Lindenberg, Lil Peep. Lostboi Lino loves associations, building up expectations and playing with the supposed disappointment. He sings happy melancholy and raps intelligent punk. His voice and his words are carrying, unbeatable and precise. In "Lost Tape" he gathers honest songs full of feeling, which were created in Stuttgart in the last few years. Because Lostboi Lino is one thing above all: damn honest.
The concert by Lostboi Lino is part of the "c/o pop 2022 musichubgermany " project and is funded by the Initiative Musik gemeinnützige Projektgesellschaft GmbH with project funds from the Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and the Media.
