Geschäftsführerin des Deutschen Musikverleger-Verbandes (DMV) und des Gesamtverbands Deutscher Musikfachgeschäfte e.V. (GDM)
Birgit Böcher, who studied art history, began her career in the music industry in 1996 at BMG Entertainment G/S/A. Excursions into the telecommunications industry (Telefonica/Quam) and artist management (including DSDS) followed, until she joined DMV and GDM in 2004. In 2019, she took over as managing director of the associations, making her one of the few women in a comparable position in Germany. She is a founding member of the Music Academy and a member of various committees, including the advisory board of the Künstlersozialkasse (KSK) and the jury of the Initiative Musik's short tour funding.
