Maryam.fyi's sound is unique: sometimes big and epic, sometimes playful, cheeky and direct. You can hear that she grew up in indie pop, but no one can deny her opera experience either. "Sophisticated indie pop" is how the German artist with Iranian roots describes her style.
In recent years, Maryam.fyi has played support for established artists such as KLAN, Alice Merton, Bruckner, Liedfett and RIMON. In 2022, she was able to play 30+ shows on her own. With the musician "AY WING" she organised her own concert series "SHE PLAYS", with stops in Cologne, Berlin, Darmstadt & Zurich. In summer 2022 she convinced at festivals like Rocken am Brocken, SNNTG Festivals, ILMPULS and many more.
Right now she is using her time, voice and platform to be loud for justice in her father's home country. In her own column for DIFFUS magazine, she writes about what is happening in Iran and also what is happening in Germany right now. She talks about her privileges of being born and raised in Germany. Maryam.fyi covered the song "Baraye" with German musician and producer David Bay, originally by Iranian musician Shervin Hajipour. He was imprisoned by the Iranian regime after the original release of the song. At short notice and before the release, Maryam.fyi was then invited by the band KRAFTKLUB to play the song at the tour stop on 14 Nov 2022 in the sold-out Sporthalle, Hamburg.
The concert is part of the funding project "c/o pop 2023 musichubgermany" and is supported by the Initiative Musik gemeinnützige Projektgesellschaft GmbH with project funds from the Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and the Media.
