Lead singer Gloria Muschaweck discovered her passion for songwriting while living in New Zealand in her teens. When she met songwriter/guitarist Benjamin Hoffmeister, they started writing their first songs together. Soon producer/drummer Lucas Adlhoch (Some Sprouts among others) was also on board - MOON MATES was born.

MOON MATES make atmospheric indie pop, carried by soulful beats and dreamy harmonies. They combine nostalgic sound elements with their own images and stories.

In 2020 they played livestreams for their Instagram followers, for Feierwerk Munich (here the related blog article) and for the organization "United We Stream", which campaigns for the preservation of live clubs.

In October they released their first EP 'Random Dad Barbecue Music'.
