Ausstellung 'Flucht, Migration und Fußball'

April 26, 10:00–18:00

Pattenhalle - Bühne 1

Soccer would be inconceivable without migration - the sport once spread from England. More than 100 years ago, immigrants founded clubs all over the world, later strengthening clubs and national teams in their new home countries. Many of the men and women who play soccer in Germany today have also experienced flight.

The traveling exhibition "Flight, Migration and Football", conceived by the Cologne Fan Project, tells the story of this connection between soccer and migration, offering insights into their biographies, but also shedding light on the topic of flight in more general terms: What are the reasons why people flee? How do they get to Europe? The circumstances of flight are addressed as well as the conditions in the countries of origin.

The exhibition "Flight, Migration and Football" was created as part of the activities of the fan projects in NRW to support refugees and was funded by the Ministry for Family, Children, Youth, Culture and Sport of the State of Nord-Rhein-Westfalen.
